| REGULATION 1. DATE AND PLACE Art. 1 - FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA - Environmental Film and Video Festival shall be held in the city of Porto Velho, state of Rondonia, Brazil from November 9 to 14, 2009. 2. PURPOSE Art. 2 - FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA has as its core purpose the exhibition and distribution of short films and medium films,fiction, documentary, animated and experimental audiovisual works with an environmental theme, produced anywhere in the world, having subtitles or spoken in the Portuguese language. Each participant may submit more than one film/video made since 2000. Unique paragraph: the organizing committee takes this opportunity to explain that, even though the environmental theme is evident and the discussion is fomented to reflect environmental causes, the festival is open to any and all types of productions. 3. SIGNING-UP Art. 3 - Films (35 or 16 mm) and videos produced in any format, being at the most 26 minutes in length, are allowed to be submitted. Unique paragraph: productions that are longer than 26 minutes may be submitted and shown during the itinerant presentations in the cities and neighborhoods, outside of the competition. Art. 4 - Sign-up is from March 2 until August 1, 2009 by filling out the correct forms available at the website and also supplying the following material: a. Preferably Mini DV/NTSC tape, DVD or VHS/NTSC of the film/video. * all productions will be projected digitally b. Posters and photographs of the film/video and of the Producers for graphic production of the catalog and promotional material. Unique paragraph: to confirm submittal it is important that the above mentioned material be sent so that the films and videos are put in the catalog for the festival. The final date for posting of material is August 1 2009. WHERE TO SEND: FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA CEP 76820-404 - Porto Velho, RO, Brasil INFORMATION: www.cineamazonia.com Art. 5 - Submitted films and videos will not be returned, but will be held in the FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA archives, later to be donated to entities connected with the environmental theme. Unique paragraph:The Mini DV tapes, DVD's, CD's and VHS of the FESTCINE archives can be, at the discretion of the organizers, used in national and international environmental events and cultural displays, or with like entities, always without profit and with free admission. Art. 6 - The producers/makers of the productions will be informed of these exhibitions after the 1st of October 2009, and made available on the site: www.cineamazonia.com Art. 7 - The organizers of the FESTCINE AMAZONIA reserve the right to invite directors and feature length motion pictures, so that they may contribute to the quality of the event and the discussion of the environmental questions. Art. 8 - A selection committee indicated by the organizers, will choose among those works submitted, those that will participate in the competitive showing and having complete autonomy to disqualify productions that, in their judgment, do not fall within the selection criteria of the FESTCINE AMAZONIA, or do not fulfill the requirements of this regulation. Unique paragraph: Legal or physical persons with any connections with productions submitted to the festival may not participate in the preselection jury, the official jury or within the organizational structures of the FESTCINE AMAZONIA. All of the participants (films and videos) compete equally for the Mapinguari Trophey. Art. 9 - A jury will be set up and comprised by members who have done outstanding environmental or audiovisual works, which shall be coordinated by a president, responsible for the group's meetings, being all decisions final and unchallengeable. Best film or video prize - 1 digital video camera Public Choice ABD-RO/Lídio Sohn prize - Documentary Rondonia Video Competition: Environmental Video Reporting Category: Art. 11 - The Organizing Committee of the event will not be responsible for images and/or songs of third parties eing utilized in submitted productions, and any and all responsibility for problems with copyrights shall fall exclusively upon the producer/maker of the video. Art. 12 - The participating productions may be exhibited, within a time frame equal to or less than 2 years, in movie theaters during noncommercial sessions, open or closed TV channels, unless expressly prohibited by the maker/producer. Unique paragraph: This restriction should be noted and sent the organizers of FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA. Art. 13 - The sign-up form which is available at the site www.cineamazonia.com, must be printed, completely filled out and signed, thereby confirming the participants' agreement with these regulations. Art. 14 - Cases of omissions to this regulation will be analyzed by the organizers of FESTCINE AMAZÔNIA. |
